The mission of Child Advocacy Services, SEGA, Inc., (CASSEGA) the sponsoring agency for CASA Ogeechee, Prevent Child Abuse Ogeechee and Ogeechee Visitation Center is to prevent child abuse and neglect and ensure the overall well-being of children and families through advocacy, education, networking, and evidence-based prevention programs in the Ogeechee Judicial Circuit.
CASA Ogeechee recruits, screens, trains, and supervises volunteers who provide community-based advocacy that promotes the best interest of children who are victims of abuse and neglect. CASA Volunteers advocate for permanency for cases that they are assigned by a juvenile judge, providing a voice to children throughout court proceedings and decisions that impact their future.
The Ogeechee Visitation Centers provide safe and nurturing facilities where children are able to create or maintain a familial bond through supervised visitation. OVC provides supervised visitation for child victims of abuse and neglect or families ordered through child custody proceedings. Caregivers receive individualized parent coaching and access to evidence-based parent education classes.
Prevent Child Abuse (PCA) Ogeechee follows practices and standards set forth by PCA Georgia to connect individuals to resources through FindHelpGA.org.
We are part of statewide networks of individuals, agencies, and communities dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect. Networks include CASA/GAL, Supervised Visitation Network, Prevent Child Abuse, and local community collaboratives.
